FAQs

We know choosing the right business support is an important decision.

Here are answers to some of the questions we're often asked about working with ABC.

Working with ABC

What kind of support does ABC provide?

We provide practical, proactive business support across a wide range of areas, including business operations and administration, project and programme management, events, marketing and founder support.

We also work with a trusted network of specialist associates, allowing us to bring in additional expertise when your business needs it.

You can explore our full range of services on our Support & Pricing page.

How do I know what type of support I need?

You don't need to have it all figured out before you contact us.

We'll start with a conversation about your business, what's taking up your time, what you're trying to achieve and where you feel you need support. From there, we can recommend the most appropriate way of working together.

That might be a Business Clarity Session, Flexible Project Support, Ongoing Business Support or a combination of different expertise.

Who will I work with?

That depends on the support you need.

You may work directly with Alexis, a dedicated ABC support partner or one of our specialist associates. Where appropriate, we can also bring together different expertise to support different areas of your business.

Whoever you work with, they'll be carefully selected based on their experience, skills and fit with your business.

What happens if my ABC support partner and I aren't the right fit?

Getting the right fit matters to us.

We take time to understand both your requirements and how you like to work before matching you with an ABC support partner. If, for any reason, the relationship doesn't feel quite right, please talk to us.

We'll work with you to understand what's not working and, where appropriate, source an alternative support partner who may be a better fit.

Is all ABC support provided virtually?

Most of our support is provided remotely, which means we can work with clients across the UK and beyond.

We tend to discourage face to face meet ups as it can prove costly for you as we’ll charge for travel and all time spent away from the office. Most things can be done via email/phone.

However, we do understand that some projects, meetings or events may benefit from in-person support, so where this is appropriate, we can discuss what's possible as part of your requirements.

All of our VAs are UK based but we all work virtually so our location is not relevant.

What if I need someone in my office?

I'm afraid we are likely not the right fit.

We tend to discourage in person support as it can prove costly for you as we’ll charge for travel and all time spent away from the office. Most things can be done via email/phone.

However, we do understand that some clients prefer in-person support, so where this is appropriate, we can discuss what's possible as part of your requirements.

Is there a minimum commitment?

It depends on how you choose to work with us.

Our Ongoing Business Support starts from a minimum of five hours per month, while Business Clarity Sessions and Flexible Project Support have their own arrangements.

We'll always explain the commitment and costs clearly before you decide to go ahead.

How much does ABC support cost?

Our Ongoing Business Support starts from £38 per hour, with a minimum of five hours per month.

Business Clarity Sessions are £195, and Flexible Project Support is priced according to the scope and requirements of the project.

You can find more information on our Support & Pricing page, or contact us if you'd like to discuss what would work best for your business.

*There may be an increased cost for specialist support, however, this will always be discussed and agreed with you before bringing that in.

Can my support change as my business grows?

Absolutely.

Your business won't stand still, so we don't expect your support requirements to either.

We can review and adapt your support as your priorities change -whether that means increasing or reducing hours, supporting a new project or bringing in additional specialist expertise.

Do I have to commit to ongoing support?

No.

You might come to ABC for a one-off Business Clarity Session or a specific project and never need ongoing support.

If you do decide you'd benefit from having someone alongside you more regularly, we'd be delighted to discuss Ongoing Business Support - but there's no expectation that every client will work with us on a long-term basis.

What's the notice period?

Notice and cancellation terms vary depending on the type of support you choose and will be clearly set out in your agreement before we begin.

If you wish to stop working with us because you’re unhappy for any reason you are strongly encouraged to discuss this with Alexis so we can have the opportunity to address any issues.

How do I get started?

The easiest first step is simply to get in touch.

Tell us a little about your business and what you're looking for help with, and we'll arrange an initial conversation to explore what you need and whether ABC is the right fit.

Business Clarity Sessions

Who is the Business Clarity Session for?

The session is ideal for business owners who are feeling overwhelmed, juggling too many priorities or looking for a clearer plan for growth. Whether you're just starting out or running an established business, the session is tailored to your goals, challenges and stage of business.

How long is the Business Clarity Session?

The Business Clarity Session is a focused 90 minute session.

You will also receive a short pre-session questionnaire to complete and after the session we'll meet again for a 30 minute follow up call to review progress, answer any questions and help you maintain momentum.

Do I need to prepare anything beforehand?

Before your session, you'll complete a short questionnaire to help me understand your business, current challenges and what you'd like to achieve. This means we can spend our time focusing on solutions and creating an action plan, rather than gathering information.

Is it online?

Yes. Business Clarity Sessions are delivered online via Google Meet, making it easy for you to join from wherever you work.

Can I book more than one Business Clarity Session?

Absolutely.

Many clients book an initial session to create clarity and a plan, then return a few months later as their business grows or priorities change.

Some clients also use Business Clarity Sessions as quarterly planning sessions to review progress, reset priorities and stay focused throughout the year.

What if I need ongoing support afterwards?

Many clients do.

If, after your Business Clarity Session, you'd like help implementing your action plan, we can continue working together through Flexible Project Support or Ongoing Business Support.

Some clients simply need the clarity that comes from one session. Others choose ongoing support so they have someone alongside them to help keep projects moving, provide accountability and create structure as their business grows.

There is no obligation or pressure - together we'll find the level of support that's right for you.

Flexible project support

Is there a minimum commitment?

No. Flexible Project Support is designed around your project, so we'll agree the level of support that's right for you.

How quickly can support start?

Where possible, we can begin support quickly. Availability depends on current capacity and the size of your project, so please get in touch to discuss your requirements.

Can support be increased if the project grows?

Absolutely. If your project evolves or you need additional expertise, we can scale support accordingly, including bringing in trusted associates where appropriate.

What happens when the project finishes?

Once your project is complete, we'll wrap everything up and make sure you have everything you need to move forward.

If you need us again in the future, we'd be delighted to help - whether that's with another project, additional support during a busy period or something completely different.

And if you decide you'd benefit from more regular support, we can explore our Ongoing Business Support together. There's absolutely no obligation to continue - Flexible Project Support is designed to give you the support you need, for as long as you need it.

Ongoing business support

Is there a minimum number of hours?

Our ongoing support starts from five hours per month. We'll discuss what you need during your discovery call and recommend a level of support that's right for you.

Who will I work with?

You'll be matched with a dedicated ABC support partner based on your requirements and working style, with ongoing support and oversight from Alexis.

Can I increase my hours?

Absolutely. If you need more support, we can increase your regular hours or add temporary additional capacity.

What if I need expertise my support partner doesn't have?

We have a trusted network of associates with different skills and experience. We can bring in additional or specialist expertise to support your business.

Any change in cost due to bringing in specialist support will be discussed and agreed beforehand.

Am I tied into a long term contract?

You can adjust or pause your support with two month's notice.

Still have a question?

If there's something we haven't covered, or you'd like to talk through what support might be right for your business, we'd love to hear from you.
